Things you should know about caring for your pet

A list pet owners should read about at home maintenance

- A professional groom (bath, brush, hair cut and nail trim) should cost around $25 for smaller breeds

- Starting to groom your dog with a professional should start when the pup is young so that they are used to it and it will not be so stressful

- Dogs with long coats should be groomed every 4 weeks and dogs with shorter hair should be groomed every 8 weeks (even if only a bath and nail trim)

- If your dog has matts DO NOT BATHE THEM it will only make the knots tighter

- If your dog does get matts do not try to trim them at home, it only makes the situation worse if you end up cutting them on accident

- When brushing your dog at home please try to remember to brush them all the way down to the skin to avoid getting matted hair in between getting grooming trips

Camping Trip

At Groomer's Best we don't have Christmas parties we have a summer camping trip, and ours is coming up on Labor day weekend! This next week I will be preparing for the trip because it takes a lot of preparing to get ready for 20 people camping together. I am currently looking for a few good recipes that I can make in bulk and relatively cheap. Any suggestions are appreciated :)

I find myself getting more and more frustrated with China, yes they offer products at a very cheap price, so cheap I cant even compete, but they lack in something....quality and customer service. Hello blogging world! To any of you that have worked with us you should know Katie she is our girl here that answers phones. Well I just wanted to let everyone know that Katie had her baby girl on 7/14/09 at 12:34 am! Both mom and baby are doing good, they named her Jaden Genice and she was a healthy 7 lbs 12 oz girl! Pet Cages

Groomer's Best pet cages are an innovative leader in the grooming industry. Made out of solid 20 gauge stainless steel and delivered to you fully assembled with casters makes this the easiest cage to order in the market. Another feature that is unique to Groomer's Best only is the waste flow channel. Each unit has a removable floor grate over a slanted floor which allows dog waste to flow down a channel in the back of each unit into a sanitary stainless steel waste container at the bottom front of the cage. We have had some people order it with plumbing on the bottom instead of the drawer so that they can have all the waste go straight down the drain. All you have to do is hose them down and your clean up is done!

We also have a new 3 unit cage bank that easily fits on any counter top and has the same great drainage feature as our 5 unit cage bank!

New swing-away tub

Our new swing-away tub features all of the conveniences today's groomer wants and needs. Built out of solid 18 gauge polished stainless steel it is heavy duty and built to last many years. We put a NASA approved coating (tough stuff) on the outside of our tubs and that ensures that your tub will never leak and helps with the clanking and popping noises that a normal stainless steel tub makes with heavier dogs in it.

Our swing-away is available in 3 colors (black, almond and white) with no extra charge for an extra $75 you can make your almost any color to match your shop! This model also features the attractive paw prints on the front of the tub and also on the removable raised floor grate that is included in the price of swing-away.

The new model also features swing-away non-slip stainless steel steps with rolling casters, new and improved animal restraints, strong tubular legs and a door.

Our tables

I just wanted to talk about our electric and hydraulic grooming tables and why I think they stand out from all the other tables. First of all I love the paw prints, I think they add that extra flair that nobody else has. What do you think? I think the turquoise paw prints on all our equipment really stands out nice on the stainless steel.

A few other nice features are the holes in the table top to hold scissors and the blade holder under the table top. Our tops are also sprayed with a NASA approved product that will last a life time and it very easy to clean, also our table tops are steel reinforced for maximum strength and durability for grooming arms.
